All references in this document to “Client”, “you”, or “your” refer to the individual(s) who have accepted or proposed to accept products or services by YouClass Learning Center or its affiliates (collectively referred to as “YCLC”.)
YCLC teachers will only communicate with parents regarding students’ learning progress and performance through face-to-face and company emails. Parents are not permitted to add teachers’ personal contact information, such as phone numbers, WeChat, WhatsApp, and so on.
ASSIGNMENT / REPLACEMENT OF TEACHERS
Students are to produce a proof of absence when they miss a lesson in order for a make- up lesson to be arranged. Should the student not able to produce proof of absence for missing lesson(s) no further make-up lesson(s) shall be arranged.
RESCHEDULING OF CLASSES / CREDIT DEDUCTION
YouClass reserves the right to reschedule classes and replace teachers in the event that the teacher concerned falls ill or becomes unavailable (Please refer to the above clause on Assignment / Replacement of Teachers). Alternative dates shall be provided for students to attend the rescheduled class. If the student does not attend lessons on these alternative dates, the credit for the particular class will be postponed to the following weeks.
Conditions allowed for rescheduling
a) Official school holidays: Students are required to provide advance notice.
b) Planned school field trips: Students are also required to provide advance notice
c) Illness: Students are required to submit a medical certificate (MC) from a registered practitioner; failing to do so will result in the concerned credit being deducted. TCM certificates are not accepted.
d) Last-minute notifications by the school to participate in CCA or other activities: Students will be required to submit a school notification/letter signed by the class teacher; failing to do so will result in the concerned credit being deducted.
e) In the case of students being absent without notice, the credit for that day shall be deducted.
f) Course fees paid are not refundable in the event that students are unable to attend lessons. However, the students will still receive lesson materials for the missed lessons.
g) Students must provide at least one day advance notice and in an emergency, a minimum of half day (4 hours) notice if they want to reschedule any lesson; otherwise, their credit will be deducted.
h) If the student decides to suspend the remaining lesson, the allocated time that was previously reserved for them may not be available, and YCLC has the right to change the teacher and timing depending on the teacher’s availability.
i) For the remaining 1 or 2 sessions, if a student is unable to complete them within 2 weeks, the class hours will be canceled. This is because we cannot indefinitely hold the scheduled time for you or your child.
j) The suspended lessons or credit will only be valid for 1 year from the date of suspension. After this one-year period, the lessons or credit will be forfeited.
k) In the event that the first lesson happens to fall on the week of the YCLC’s test, you / your child may choose to attend the following lesson. Should you / your child decide to attend the test, it shall be considered as one complete lesson.
Make-up lessons are subjected to approval by the management. The maximum number of times for make-up lessons for the entire duration of course are as stated:
PUNCTUALITY
Students are expected to be punctual for lessons. Any late-coming of more than 15 minutes will therefore be regarded as a student being absent. The management in this case, has the right not to reschedule a replacement lesson. Lessons will not be extended for late-comers.
MUTUAL RESPECT
YouClass shall treat all clients with utmost respect and shall endeavor to resolve all disputes amicably . The client shall reciprocate with the same respect for all YouClass’s staff and teachers. The use of abusive language shall not be tolerated. All cases regarding the use of abusive language by either party shall be handed over to the authorities for further investigation. Thereafter, all lessons shall be suspended pending the outcome from the authorities. Note that all verbal abuse cases fall under the Protection from Harassment Act (31st May 2015).
YCLC reserves the right to make any amendments to the above Terms and Conditions without prior notice and will not be held liable for any damages that may occur from these amendments.
